Conventional DC Dashboard

A deterministic product contract for the facility alarm strip, power/cooling/environment/sustainability KPIs, contextual image, subsystem routes, basis drawers, generated design and FAQ in dc-conventional.html. The cockpit is a modeled teaching aid, not live BMS telemetry.

Engine CONV_CALC v2.0.0IT 30,000 kWFacility 43,500 kWMode SIMULATED / ADOPTED

01 Purpose & problem

A conventional facility overview must reconcile electrical demand, cooling duty, environment, resilience and alarm state before routing a user to subsystem pages. Static marketing callouts cannot provide that trust; every primary result needs a denominator, source class and repeatable calculation.

Operational outcome

Expose abnormal state first, then the minimum site-level values needed to decide which subsystem to inspect.

Engineering outcome

Keep PUE, facility/IT load, CHW, WUE, carbon and fuel arithmetic on one immutable scenario and surface placeholders honestly.

04 Functional requirements

IDVisible element / requirementAcceptance
FR-01Preserve the cockpit tier gate while PRD and Manual remain public.Full access/Educator/Root policy remains owned by shared auth; docs contain no gate.
FR-02Provide Portfolio, DC Solutions, PRD and Manual links. All are visible in .header-left and keyboard reachable.
FR-03Show title, modeled status indicator and WIB clock.Clock changes only time; “LIVE” styling does not override simulated disclosure.
FR-04Provide Generate Design, FAQ and Theme controls. Each control opens/toggles the intended surface without changing the locked model.
FR-05Provide subsystem routes to EPMS, Data Hall, Chiller Plant, Fire, Fuel, Water and ICT.All seven links resolve and retain tooltip description.
FR-06Show alarm state, Critical, Warning, Maintenance/Bypass, Comms, Stale, Last Update, Data Quality and Scenario.Nine groups render before KPI content and use one snapshot/rule evaluation.
FR-07Evaluate overall state from critical/warning counts.CRITICAL outranks WARNING; NORMAL appears only when both are zero.
FR-08Evaluate PUE, chiller redundancy, environment and fuel thresholds deterministically.paintAlarmStrip(snapshot) returns identical counts over reloads.
FR-09Show non-running chiller count as installed minus running while disclosing that the value includes capacity headroom, not proven maintenance.Locked scenario reads 3 (10 installed − 7 running).
FR-10Show PUE KPI and basis drawer.Value 1.45 and target ≤1.5 are distinct; drawer shows facility/IT inputs.
FR-11Show WUE KPI and basis drawer.1.20 L/kWh IT and 600.0 L/min equivalent makeup are traceable.
FR-12Show grid-factor KPI and basis drawer.0.42 kgCO₂/kWh facility is not labeled as CUE.
FR-13Show IT Load KPI and basis drawer.30,000 kW out of 40,000 kW campus design, 75% utilization and 7,500 kW selected-hall scope are distinguishable.
FR-14Show Uptime KPI and basis drawer.Uptime renders — / UNAVAILABLE until an authenticated downtime event log is bound; no healthy numeric placeholder is permitted.
FR-15Show Temperature KPI and basis drawer.22.4°C is labeled simulated and placed against the stated band.
FR-16Show Chillers KPI and basis drawer.7/10 running, 5,000 kWth/unit and central N+1 sizing reconcile to the snapshot.
FR-17Show Alarms KPI.Count and Normal text agree with the alarm strip.
FR-18Show six operational image callouts.PUE, IT, CHW, temperature, fuel and RH values retain units and engine binding where available.
FR-19Show Efficiency stats.PUE, WUE, Grid factor and CUE_IT remain separate rows with denominator tooltips.
FR-20Show Power stats.Total, IT and UPS A/B normal/failover values reconcile to the snapshot/display rule.
FR-21Show Cooling stats.19.4/27.0°C CHWS/CHWR, 7.6 K ΔT, 943.0 L/s IT sensible-load reference, 982.3 L/s evaporator-duty reference, 31,250 kW evaporator duty, 36,403.4 kW condenser/tower rejection and 7/10 chillers remain engine-bound. Measured header flow and per-hall allocation stay unavailable until the required instrumentation and hydronic distribution design exist.
FR-22Show Network & Reliability stats.Network, UPS topology and uptime remain explicitly UNAVAILABLE until dedicated topology and event authorities are bound.
FR-23Show Environment stats.Temperature and RH remain engine-bound; differential pressure is explicitly UNAVAILABLE without a pressure-sensor authority.
FR-24Show Safety stats.Overview FACP and VESDA states are UNAVAILABLE; the dedicated Fire cockpit owns validated fire authority.
FR-25Show Fuel stats.Bulk-tank level and 48 h autonomy remain engine-bound; per-genset day-tank level is UNAVAILABLE.
FR-26Bind all primary derivations to one snapshot. No Math.random() affects PUE, WUE, grid factor, IT, total, CHW, temperature, RH or fuel.
FR-27Provide keyboard basis-drawer activation.Click/Enter/Space open formula/input/output/source; Escape/scrim/close dismiss.
FR-28Generate a controlled technical document through the shared Design Studio.Power, cooling, water, fire, fuel, ICT/BMS, carbon and cost sections use one captured snapshot; page-approved document type and scope are explicit.

FR-30Provide scroll-to-top, theme and responsive behavior.Controls remain named, reachable and do not cause horizontal overflow.
FR-31Separate current operating and current-plus-study document scopes.Current uses the locked 30,000 kW adopted campus snapshot; current-plus-study adds the clearly labeled 40 MW IT / 58 MW facility design-point study without changing any cockpit value.
FR-32Preserve source-truth coloring on the EPMS subsystem route. Each ATS-to-rack final conductor inherits the actually energizing source path; Feed A remains A/red and Feed B remains B/green, with state text available beyond color.
FR-33Maintain accessible Design Studio lifecycle.Dialog title, labeled selects, snapshot/provenance, focus trap, Escape/scrim/close behavior, visible generation error and trigger focus return are present.
FR-34Reconcile the adopted four-hall campus through one immutable contract.CONV_CALC.snapshot returns 4 halls, 30 MW current IT, 40 MW design IT, 500 racks/hall, 2,000 campus racks, 15 kW/rack current average and 20 kW/rack design average.
FR-35Reject incompatible rack-density assumptions. As an explicit rejected counterexample only, 10 MW/hall with 200 racks yields 50 kW/rack and a blocking issue for the selected CRAH air-side thermal contract.
FR-36Fail closed for ungoverned facility-power points. The adopted 30 MW IT / 43.5 MW facility point and declared 40 MW IT / 58 MW facility design point are explicit; arbitrary intermediate points return unavailable until a valid monotonic part-load curve is approved.

Subsystem operator contracts

These contracts are part of this master PRD and govern the dedicated Chiller, Fire, Fuel, Water and ICT pages. The page manuals remain the formula and operating-methodology authority; this section defines required product behavior and acceptance.

SubsystemRequired operator viewCurrent/design ruleFail-safe / acceptance
Chiller plantISA-style topology, CHWS/CHWR, ΔT, reference-flow reconciliation, differential pressure, evaporator/tower duties, plant kW/ton/COP context, lead-lag, duty/standby/fault, N+1 headroom, equipment inspector and Hall A–D context.Current 31,250 kW evaporator duty, 36,403.4 kW tower rejection, 19.4/27.0°C, calculated 943.0/982.3 L/s references and 7/10 chillers stay engine-bound. Measured header flow and per-hall allocation remain unavailable without instrumentation and a hydronic distribution design. No cyan/green “running” cue may hide warning/trip. Selection opens a keyboard-accessible diagnostic view; no overlay or clipping from 390–1920 px.
Fire protectionFACP/VESDA authority, fire-water/inert-agent process mimic, reserve/pump/valve feedback, staged cause/effect and explicit interlock list for lift recall, access/door release, AHU/fan stop, smoke/fire damper, EPO, BMS/DCIM and notification.Protected hall/rack counts are context only; suppression sizing remains in the fire calculation authority and AHJ-approved design.Simulation cannot masquerade as field command. Cause and effect show commanded, proven, inhibited and unavailable separately; active fire red is never used as a medium color.
Fuel systemBulk/day tank inventory, transfer path, two-pump duty/standby, polishing mode and ΔP, water-in-fuel, leak/sump zones, deliveries, consumption and N+1 autonomy.Current autonomy remains 744,144 L ÷ 15,503 L/h = 48.0 h. Operational sizing still requires approved generator count/load curves and tank policy; no unqualified proportional extrapolation.Leak or low-low state identifies zone and isolation consequence. Pump override remains visibly simulated and interlocked.
Water treatmentRaw/treated storage, duty/standby pumps, filter ΔP, chemical dosing, UV, conductivity/TDS, cooling makeup, blowdown, domestic split, leak/drain and maintenance state.Current WUE-equivalent cooling makeup of 600.0 L/min remains distinct from measured flow; total treated flow is 608.0 L/min including 8.0 L/min domestic/process. The balance applies because evaporative cooling-tower heat rejection is adopted.Pump symbol and animation follow ISA state, not decorative spin. Makeup and blowdown reconcile with scope/quality labels and sensor provenance.
ICT / OT networkCore/distribution/access and BMS/OT paths, installed/usable/N+1 capacity, bandwidth/latency/loss/jitter, redundancy, cyber boundary, gateway reachability, alarm history and selected-link detail.Current traffic remains an authored snapshot. Design port/rack capacity derives from 500 racks/hall and documented oversubscription, not from IT MW alone.Topology must remain readable without line-label collision; link state has text plus color; unknown/stale quality is not shown as healthy.
Alarm-history contract: every subsystem exposes a common query vocabulary: from/to timestamp, system, point/tag, severity, lifecycle/state, value comparator, quality and acknowledgement. Empty results disclose the active filter; CSV export preserves source timestamp, quality and lifecycle. Filtering is read-only and never issues a control command.

Alarm freshness is synthetic.Stale=0 because snapshot is frozen; Last Update is browser time.Distinguish model evaluation time from acquisition/sample time.
Maintenance semantics are overloaded.Standby chiller count is shown as Maint/Bypass.Separate planned maintenance, bypass and available standby capacity.
WUE flow is an annual-equivalent rate.600.0 L/min is not an instantaneous cooling-tower measurement.Keep scope label visible and bind actual makeup/blowdown if introduced.
Grid factor is fixed.0.42 has no displayed geography/date/version in the dashboard.Add source vintage and location/market basis before sustainability reporting.
Fuel consumption is a scaled design assumption.15,503 L/h derives from 43,500 kW × 0.356384 L/kWh, not a vendor multi-set load curve.Use approved generator curves and running-set allocation for operational autonomy.
Warm-water CHW level is assumed.CHWS 19.4°C derives from the 25.4°C rack inlet target minus a 6.0 K assumed coil approach; CHWR is 27.0°C at the adopted 7.6 K rise.Replace the approach only with an approved coil selection and re-run every dependent cooling gate.
Per-hall chiller allocation is unavailable. The 7/10 N+1 plant is central and the engine intentionally returns no hall allocation.Provide the hydronic distribution topology and isolation philosophy before allocating units to halls.
Generated design breadth exceeds validated snapshot.Report includes fire, water chemistry and cost assumptions beyond primary dashboard points.Maintain section-level source/assumption tags and independent calculation tests.
Access policy wording may drift.Comments, overlay and shared feature flags have changed historically between Full access/Educator/Root descriptions.Test the canonical policy; docs must not become an alternate access path.
Design capacity may be mistaken for current load. The adopted operating point is 4 × 7.5 MW = 30 MW IT; 4 × 10 MW = 40 MW IT and 58 MW facility are the declared 100% design point.Keep current/design-point scope labels and require discipline-specific sizing before procurement or commissioning use.
EPMS color can drift from topology truth.A final ATS-to-rack segment previously used a fixed green class even when energized from the red/A path.Derive the final segment from actual source state and keep the four-scenario regression test mandatory.
